In early January, your main character enters a game where anyone can quit at any time, but anyone who loses a round faces consequences that impact their lives long after the game has ended. As each round progresses, players are forced to risk their reputations, relationships, and even future opportunities. Write a story about what your main character does as continuing to play the game quickly becomes more and more dangerous.

Stuck? Consider these starters:
Why did your protagonist(s) decide to participate in the first place? What do they have to lose? What happens to someone who loses? Is the game digital or in-person? Why does your character continue to play despite the risks? What eventually causes your protagonist to quit (or continue playing)?

Due to staffing shortages, FSF will unfortunately be unable to provide feedback on stories submitted this January.
